Meet the Rams
Meet Casey, Eugene, Walter and LJ
Eugene is a 3 year old purebred Charollais. This boy is a tank but he's the most laid back ram you'll ever meet. He loves scratches behind the ears and is a dream to handle.
Casey is a 4 year old purebred Suffolk. He's so handsome and he knows it. He loves pineapple and melons. While he lives with us, he belongs to the Wolfenden farm, which he gets to visit once a year.
Walter is Casey's son. He's a Suffolk/Romanov cross. He's our teaser ram who helps us get the ewes ready for breeding on a very tight, out-of-season schedule. Walter's a jerk but he's very good at his job.
Little John, or LJ, as we call him, is the newest addition to the farm. He's a yearling purebred Charollais ram who exhibits tremendous length and muscling. We're excited for his first lambs in December this year.
4H Mamas
We have been playing with our genetics to get a nice meaty lamb for 4H. We have a variety of 4H mamas including Suffolk, Suffolk/Friesen, Suffolk/Dorset, Charollais/Romanov, Charollais and Suffolk/Hampshire.
We now maintain a closed flock with tight biosecurity to ensure a healthy flock. Replacement ewes are picked from our lambs as needed.
Lambs
Our lambs are born starting December 15th each year. It makes for an exciting holiday season at Clarke Homestead. Who doesn't love baby season?
